Some items are distributed directly to members, while digital versions may also be made available on our website.

Access to full digital versions of certain materials (such as newsletters and some member-only publications) is restricted to logged-in members. However, limited excerpts, including titles, author names, captions, or brief descriptions, may be visible to the public to highlight Landingslag activities and historical content. In addition, some videos and other media are publicly accessible and may include images or recordings of members and other individuals participating in Landingslag events or activities, even when names are not displayed.

By participating in Landingslag activities or submitting content for publication or recording, members acknowledge that their name, likeness, voice, or contributions may appear in these publications and media. This may include print materials, digital documents, photographs, audio recordings, and video, whether distributed privately to members or made publicly available.

If you are a member and wish to request removal or redaction of your name or other personal information from a digital publication, video, or public excerpt, please contact us using our Contact Us page. We will carefully review such requests in accordance with our archival, historical, and organizational objectives.

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string (hash) of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy. After your comment is approved, your profile picture may be visible to the public.

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as visitors may be able to extract that data.

Our website uses cookies (small text files stored on your device) to ensure the site functions correctly and to support optional features. We categorize cookies as Essential, Statistics, or Marketing, as described below.

Essential cookies enable basic functions and are necessary for the proper function of the website. They include cookies that manage consent preferences, support the comment system, handle login sessions, and enable security features such as spam protection. These cookies are always active, as the website cannot function properly without them.

Statistics cookies collect information anonymously. This information helps us understand how visitors use our website. These cookies are only deployed if we make use of statistical tracking features. Visitors in regions where privacy laws require it are given the option to opt in to or out of these cookies.

Marketing cookies are used to follow visitors to websites. The intention is to show ads that are relevant and engaging to the individual user. These cookies are only deployed if we make use of marketing or advertising features. Visitors in regions where privacy laws require it are given the option to opt in to or out of these cookies.

Visitors located in certain regions (including Europe, California, and Brazil) are presented with a cookie consent tool that allows them to opt in to or out of Statistics and Marketing cookies, in accordance with the privacy laws applicable in those regions. Essential cookies are not subject to this choice, as they are necessary for the website to operate.

Visitors outside of these regions are subject to our standard cookie practices as described in this policy.

A full listing of the specific cookies currently in use on this website can be found by clicking the expandable panel below, titled Cookie Detail (click here to toggle detail listing). This listing is automatically maintained and will reflect any changes to our cookie usage over time. If Statistics or Marketing sections are absent from this listing, no such cookies are currently in use on this website.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., YouTube videos). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you visited those sites directly, which may collect data about you, use cookies, and track interactions. This may occur whether or not you have an account with the originating website, and whether or not you are logged in.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.

Information submitted via forms (such as scanned letters) may be shared with the Lands Museum in Norway for archiving, historical research, and publication as noted above.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely.

For registered members, we store the personal data in your profile until you request deletion or your membership ends. Administrators can view and edit that information.

If you have an account or have submitted data through forms or comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any information you have provided. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are obligated to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Landingslag maintains a historical archive, including newsletters and publications, which may contain personal information such as names or photographs of members. While we respect individuals’ rights to request erasure of their personal data, please note that published materials are typically retained for historical and archival purposes in the public interest. In such cases, we may offer to publish a correction or clarification rather than remove the original content.

To request data export or erasure, please use the contact options on our Contact Us page. WordPress tools are used to fulfill these requests securely and promptly.

Please note that erasing your personal data may result in the deletion of your membership account and related history, as we will no longer be able to maintain necessary records.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Form submissions are emailed securely using SMTP2GO.

Data you submit, such as letters or messages, may be sent to trusted partners like the Lands Museum in Norway for historical preservation and research.
